Day 4 - Myeongdong & Insadong

Saturday, November 22nd, 2025

Jen had some special retail therapy she really wanted to experience in Seoul.

So we started with twelve stories of Daiso at Myeongdong!

Then after lunch of a sweet potato and honey mochi donuts and some McDonald's . . . I had a bulgolgi burger.
As we caught the bus from Myeongdong to Insadong, we saw lots of Police buses and vehicles as there was a concert of some sort being held on the way with hundreds of people in attendance.  The local constabulary were out in force to keep them safe.

Once at Insadong we went to the area known as a traditional hanok village.  Below is an area where you could purchase an annual fortune or forecast.  Each door had a different animal on it, like a dragon, goat or snake.

Soon we found the shop we were looking for, Teterot Salon.  Jen has always wanted to get her own traditional Hanbok but it is not the type of item you would wear very often.  Teterot Salon have designed clothes with a modern interpretation of traditional Hanbok, so Jen was able to find some delightful outfits which were designed and made by Teterot Salon in Korea which she will be able to wear on special occasions, showcasing the traditional Korean Hanbok design features.  This was a major item to achieve on our Korea trip!  Here is the website for Teterot Salon in English language.

Afterwards we explored the many shops in neighbouring streets, including the below bakery.

We can't tell you about some of the shops we visited because we were buying gifts for our daughters and don't want them to read this and find out before we hand them over.

At night the city transforms and the buses once again prove most effective.  16,059 steps today!
