Day 7 - Jeju Island, Seongsan

Tuesday, November 25th, 2025

We flew out of Gimpo airport and an hour later we landed on Jeju Island!

Soon we pick up our hire car and head towards Seongsan where we're staying tonight.  On the way we drove the coastal road on the eastern side of Jeju and stopped here for a delicious seafood pancake for lunch.  Yum!  With a view of the ocean.

It is an icy, windy day.  Jeju Island is famous for its volcanic landscape, with the tallest mountain in the centre, Hallasan Mountain, being a dormant volcano.  So we observe many buildings are made of volcanic rock, including the roof!

Many fences are made of volcanic rock as well, look how tall this one is next to our little hire car.

Jeju Island is also famous for its female divers who dive for delicious seafood which we ate at lunch time.  There are many wonderful murals painted on buildings representing this rich heritage.

This is the view from our accommodation tonight, Seongsan Ilchulbong, where we will be watching the sun rise in the morning.

Welcome to Jeju Island!  We're here for the next four nights.  Only 6470 steps today.
