Today the temperature was dramatically lower and it seemed to go no higher than zero degrees from what we saw and felt, so we rugged up. We walked down the road to the Daereungwon Ancient Tomb Complex, opposite the tombs we visited yesterday. An impressive landscape of various size mound tombs. Combined with the stunning colours of the autumn leaves, a wonderful morning.

Nearby we walked past the Cheomseongdae Observatory, an astronomical observation building:

After about 1km of walking we reached the Gyeongju National Museum, which hosts over 3,300 artifacts unearthed from around Gyeongju, demonstrating the history, technology and art of the once-radiant thousand years Shilla dynasty. We took dozens of photos, but they really cannot do the exhibit justice.
Comma-shaped jade jewellery pieces:
After visiting the museum we caught a taxi (for AUD4.50) to nearby Gyochon Hanok Village

Nearby is the Woljeonggyo Bridge which was constructed in the 19th year of King Gyeondeok's rule (the year 760). It was restored in 2009.
We finished by visiting the Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond which is normally photographed at night time when it is spectacularly illuminated, but the lowering temperature meant we would visit while the sun was still adding some heat to proceedings. A model shows the scale of the entire palace which was once located here, now represented by some structures by the pond.

Tomorrow morning we travel by KTX high speed train to Seoul and our last full day in Korea. It has been amazing, a land full of history, tradition and deep culture. The people are generous, welcoming and kind.

13,657 steps today, if someone can add up the steps for the entire trip and tell me the number in a comment that would be choice!
